Jeff Hale
Vocals/Guitar

Jeff is in his 35th year of professional musical performance. Jeff holds a BA in Musical Performance from The University of S. Florida/Tampa, where he played in a professional Symphony orchestra for many years. A transplant from South Florida, Jeff has been entertaining Houston audiences for the last 8 years.

"I wasn't born here in Texas," Jeff says, "But, by God, I got here as quickly as I could!"

Jeff's unique blend of humor and a knack for playing cool songs has won him the approval of many an audience. A total and consumate entertainer, Jeff has honed his craft through many years on the road and has been on "the big stage" as he worked as a sideman for many stars and “name acts" including: David Alan Coe, The Tennessee River Boys (later called, "Diamond Rio") Bertie Higgins (“Key Largo”), George Benson, Marilyn McCoo, Tony Bennett, and Frank Sinatra, as well as Motown icon Cecil Shaw, to name just a few.

Here in Houston, Jeff has performed with many local bands, such as "Hidden Agenda", "The Stringbenders", " Jeremiah Johnson and The Texas Alligators", "Rick Lee and The Night Owls"," David Schwope", "Greg Wappler and The Trust", "Counsel", "Martian Wildlife", "Kicking Klouds". "The Texas Devils", "The CEO Band' and many others. But Jeff is at his best when at the wheel of The Convertibles.

“Every Convertibles show is different”, he says, “because every audience is different.  But
one thing stays the same...WE ROCK!!!”

A significant part of The Convertibles show is dedicated to Jeff's electric violin pyrotechnics. If you've never heard Jeff perform songs like "Voodoo Chile", "Baba O'Reilly", "When The Levee Breaks", and, of course, "The Devil Went Down To Georgia", you are in for a REAL treat!

Jeff plays Fender Stratocaster guitars, Zeta and Barcus-Berry electric violins and the Line 6 Vetta II modeling amplifier exclusively.

B.C. Anagnostis
Vocals/Bass Guitar

"BC" Anagnostis started playing guitar and singing when he was just 12 years old. After 28+ years of playing, BC can handle just about any musical challenge with exquisite style and grace!

BC cut his teeth over the years in such local bands as “Cold Steel”, “Corky Bean’s Shakedown”, “Tommy Gill’s Texas Stars", “Disorder”, “David Wayne & The Fugitives”, “True South”, "The Hector Serrano Show", "The Guitar Phil Band" and even a stint with a band featuring his now ex-wife Shirley (on vocals) called “Smokin' Rosebud”.

Prior to joining The Convertibles, BC had been an integral part of the well-known Houston band, "Fuzzy Side Up", performing with them for over 6 years. A chance meeting at a jam session between Jeff and BC was the fortunate crossing of paths which led to BC leaving Fuzzy Side Up to join forces with Jeff and Al in forming the current line-up of The Convertibles.

BC plays a Fender Jazz Bass and an OLP Ernie Ball Stingray Bass and uses Peavey Amplification and KMD speakers for his unique and signature sound.

BC can be heard singing the high harmony parts and covering the high lead vocals on Zeppelin, Police, Journey and Doobie Brothers tunes!

Matt Braden
Vocals/Drums

Matt Braden was born in Ontario Canada and from a very young age music held a great fasination for him. Being the son of a drummer, Matt had little choice which instrument he would play. It was not because his father made him do it. It was in his blood....what he was meant to do. The first time he sat behind a drum set he knew what to do. The great Canadian musician Ian Thomas sat him behind a kit when Matt tagged along with his sister to a guitar lesson. "He did it to get me out of his hair, and was blown away when I could play. I was 6 at the time."

His first public performance was at the age of 13. His first professional gig was at the age of 15! Since that time he has done very few other things than music to pay the bills. While living in Canada Matt played with: Dabero Jabba,Michelle Wright, Billy Charles and the Tennasse Waterwalkers and Local Heroes, all of which got radio an tv exposure.

In 1997 Matt came to Las Vegas to sub in for a Canadian show band, "The Kokomo Show". That turned int 10 years of non stop work. Matt shared the stage with too many artists and celebrities to list while constantly working in the entertainment capitol. Keeping up with a huge range of musical styles. Very few drummers had more work than Matt.

Matt moved to Texas in 2007 and intends to stay just as busy! The Convertibles seem to be a good fit for me ,he says. I want to work with a band that can play anything.
